The Relay for Life of East St. Mary was held Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society and takes place overnight while teams raise funds at their “campsites” during the event. Top, cancer survivors and their caretakers walk the “Survivor’s Lap” around the track that is lined with luminaria. Each luminaria, bottom, is created to honor loved ones fighting cancer and to remember those who have lost their battles to the disease.
