Ida Mae Brooks, age 86, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and a resident of Patterson, died January 26, 2013 at her residence in Patterson, at 7:25 a.m.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 2, at Good Hope Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Shield Cemetery.

Ida leaves to cherish her memories a son, Wayne Gant of Patterson; four daughters, Crystal Gant and Lisa Darnall, both of Patterson, Juanita Brooks of Houston, Texas and Linda Gant of Franklin; three brothers, Leroy Gant of Patterson, Calvin Gant of Chicago, Illinois and Eddie Gant of Chicago, Illinois; four sisters, Mrs. Otis (Hattie) Porter, Pearlie Howze and Debra Gant, all of Memphis, Tennessee, and Carolyn Gant of Texas; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.

Ida was preceded in death by her father, her mother, a grandson, nine sisters, nine brothers and five children.
