Irene Marie Sons, 84, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Irene spent many years shrimping and working hard. She loved shopping, eating out, growing flowers, spending time with her brothers and sisters, and watching Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke and other westerns. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene was wonderful at making homemade breads and a fabulous crab stew! To her grandchildren she was comforting and the perfect role model showing unconditional love from her tone of voice even down to her cooking.
Irene was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
