From Staff Reports

A former Patterson High School baseball player broke multiple school records at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas.

Dustin Jett set all-time marks for at bats (546), runs (133), hits (180), walks (89) and stolen bases (75). In his career, he was caught stealing just six times, while in breaking the all-time hits record, he eclipsed the mark set by Tommy Benningfield, Southwestern’s current assistant coach.

During his senior year, Jett, a center fielder, finished with a .348 batting average. In 135 at bats, he recorded 47 hits, 23 runs and 16 RBIs as well as a .415 slugging percentage. He hit five doubles and two triples and was successful on 21 of 22 stolen base attempts.
