BATON ROUGE – Gov. Bobby Jindal’s agenda for overhauling Louisiana public education rubs the establishment the wrong way.

Jindal on Tuesday unveiled a plan that would revise teacher tenure laws, grant school superintendents the hiring and firing power now resting with elected school boards and implement a state-wide allowing students in certain instances to get public money to attend private school.

The administration will send the package to the Legislature when it convenes March 12.
