MONROE – Jury selection is under way for trial of a teenager accused of killing his parents late one night, then going to school the next day.

Dalton Fletcher, 16, allegedly shot his parents last September and threatened to shoot his sister.

The next day, police allege, he put the gun in the trunk of his mother’s car and drove to West Ouachita High.

He has pleaded innocent by reason of insanity.

Police said he told them he planned the slayings of John and Tammy Fletcher for more than six weeks, in the wake of several months of beatings by his father.
