Mrs. Leola Richard Tolbert, 60, a resident of Baldwin and native of Baton Rouge, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at 12:42 a.m., at Iberia Extended Care Hospital in New Iberia following a short illness.

Mrs. Tolbert was a retired schoolteacher of St. Mary Parish.

She is survived by her husband, Mark R. Tolbert of Baldwin; three daughters, Trinina Tolbert of Lafayette, Kenshel Tolbert of New Iberia and Candra Tolbert of Baldwin; two brothers, Joseph O. Richard and Ernest L. Richard of Baton Rouge; and five sisters, Gloria Dodson, Betty Tolliver, Ethel Mae Richard, Pamela Richard and Myrtle Patin of Baton Rouge.

Mrs. Tolbert was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Park Avenue Church of Christ in Franklin.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at that church, with Min. Cornelius Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery in Jeanerette.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
