Asphalt overlay of La. 87 between Sterling Sugar in Franklin and the Centerville community continues to progress. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development contracted with W.E. McDonald & Sons LLC to resurface some 5 miles of battered highway at a cost of $3.45 million. It is expected to be complete by the harvest and grinding season.
