This is the second year the festival has been held in Morgan City. It was previously held in Thibodaux.
The festival will include more than 20 folklife artists including fly fishers, cast net makers, painters, carvers and a blacksmith, to name a few, will be giving demonstrations, according to a news release from the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program.
The mission of the festival is to educate while entertaining festival-goers about the rich resources and heritage in Terrebonne.
The festival will also have music throughout the day, a magician, duck calling and cast net throwing contests, and face painting. Food is available to purchase.
Admission and parking is free.
