Larry Emile Foret, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Dec. 19, 2011, at the age of 74.

Larry was a boat captain for 40-plus years. After seeing the world, he retired to spend time with family and friends. Larry was Catholic by faith and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a Master Mason and a member of Doric Lodge 205 of Morgan City and a Shriner. Larry enjoyed dancing and was never alone on the dance floor.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Patricia and her husband Shelby Daigle of Belle River; his son, John Foret and his wife Susan of Florida; four grandchildren, Kyle Daigle, Emanuel Foret, Jonathon Foret and Felicia Verbrycke; his brothers Calvin Boudreaux, Raliegh Aucoin and Thomas Giroir; his sisters, Rita Mouton and Betty Naquin; and also by his companion, Judy Bergeron.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Testa Foret; his parents; and many brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City.

Funeral services will be at Hargrave Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted by his Masonic brothers. Larry will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
