In the latest round, he claims he is being deprived of privileges accorded other prisoners and being unduly subjected to extraordinary housing procedures, including almost round-the-clock lockdown.
Lavergne admitted last August that he killed UL-Lafayette student Mickey Shunick earlier in the summer and that he killed Lisa Pate in 1999.
He has since recanted, saying he was pressured to plead guilty and that he had ineffective counsel.
Motions to throw out his plea and his sentence are pending in district court in Lafayette.
