Lennis J. Scully Sr., 72, a native and lifelong resident of Morgan City and current resident of New Iberia, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at New Iberia Manor North.

Lennis is survived by his three sons, Lennis J. Scully Jr. of Morgan City, Bryan P. Scully Sr. and his wife Lisa of Morgan City, and Howard J. Scully and his wife Maria of New Iberia; three sisters, Margaret Leleaux of Avondale, Vina Trosclair and Gayle Scully, both of Morgan City; a brother-in-law, Howard Hebert; a sister-in-law, Collette B. Hebert; six grandchildren, Bryan “B.J.” Scully Jr. and his wife Mikki, Shane Scully, Logan Scully, Nickolaus Scully, Noah Scully and Meaghan Scully; and one great-grandchild, Ava Scully.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Hebert Scully; a son, Chris A. Scully; his father, Hebert Scully; his mother, Mabel Simoneaux; seven brothers, Raymond Scully, Reed Scully, Eddie Scully, Hebert Scully Jr., Michael Scully, Joseph Scully, and John Scully; and three sisters, Shirley LeBlanc, Val-Jean Lee, and LuEulla Scully.

Lennis loved fishing and spending time at the camp. He was an exceptional cook. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, and watching football games. Lennis will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Graveside services will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Amelia.
