Leroy Joseph Verrett, 70, a native of Ponchatoula and a resident of Bayou L’Ourse, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Leroy is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Verrett of Bayou L’Ourse; three grandsons, Leroy Green, Matthew Green and Jesse Willis, all of Broussard; three brothers, Donald Verrett of Bon Secour, Ala., Douglas Verrett of Bayou L’Ourse and Russell Verrett of Berwick; five sisters, Betty Pelican, Patricia Vice and Judy Cochran, all of Bayou L’Ourse, Sharon Harrington of Amelia and Anna Oliver of Eunice; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Gillis and Mary Aucoin Verrett; and two sisters, Barbara Tipton and Lorraine Guillory.
Visitation will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, 6-9 p.m., at Twin City Funeral Home and resuming Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at the funeral home beginning at 8 a.m. until time of service at noon.
Leroy will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Amelia.
