According to Sheriff Mark Hebert during the last 24-hour reporting period the Sheriff’s Office responded to 45 complaints and reports the following arrests:

—Tammy Cavalier, 41, of Derrick Street, Pierre Part, arrested at Walmart in Bayou Vista at 6:55 p.m. Thursday for theft. Store security indicated that Cavalier had been observed placing items in her purse and then attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise valued at about $102. Released on a summons to appear in court on Oct. 29.

—Tieann L. Deville, 35, of La. 182 West, Patterson, arrested at home at 10:14 p.m. Thursday for disturbing the peace by fighting. Released on a $250 bond.

—Nicolas Chauvin, 33, of Mercury Street, Bayou Vista, arrested on Francis Street in Berwick at 12:42 a.m. today for domestic abuse battery. Booked and incarcerated in the parish jail with no bond set.

—Jason J. Ashley, 24, of Calumet Cut Lane, Ricohoc, arrested at home at 12:53 a.m. today on two warrants for failure to appear. A deputy responded to a hang up call to 911 from the residence. During the investigation the deputy learned that Ashley was wanted on the warrants. Booked into the parish jail with no bond set.

The Morgan City Police Department reports one arrest overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:

—Jonathan Vernon, 21, of Kingwood, Texas, arrested in the Taco Bell parking lot at 10:48 p.m. Thursday and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way on a one-way road. The arrest occurred at the U.S. 90 down-ramp to La. 182. Booked and incarcerated with no bond set.
