NATCHITOCHES — Marci Berger of Berwick is one of eight contestants in the 55th Annual Miss Northwestern – Lady of the Bracelet Pageant to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. Tickets are $5.

The eight Northwestern State students are scheduled to compete in the event, which is a preliminary for the Miss Louisiana Pageant. The NSU Student Activities Board sponsors the pageant. The winner will receive more than $8,000 in scholarships and prizes.

Other contestants include Bailee Cartwright of Holdenville, Okla., Breanna Collier and Alyson Humphrey of Bossier City, Laricka Rayford of St. Francisville, Jessica Smith of Coushatta, Lakyn Ward of Leesville and Kyla Winey of Lafayette.

Berger is the daughter of Charles Jerry Berger Jr. She is a junior nursing major and is a Dean’s List student. Her NSU activities include being a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and serving as a peer mentor.

Cartwright is a junior communication major. She is the daughter of Tom and Tina Cartwright.

A sophomore theatre major, Collier is the daughter of Michael Collier Sr. and Mary Collier.

Humphrey is a junior instrumental music education major. She is the daughter of Lisa Clary and Ronnie Humphrey.

Rayford is the daughter of Linda and Eugene Harris. She is a junior theatre major.

Smith is a sophomore general studies major. She is the daughter of Susan and Brandon Bamberg.

Ward is the daughter of Tim and Jessica Ward. She is a sophomore business administration major.

Winey is a sophomore communication major. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Laura Winey.
