Berwick, Morgan City and Central Catholic all picked up volleyball victories Thursday, while Patterson fell to South Terrebonne.

Berwick defeated Westgate 3-1 (25-16, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18) on the road.

Morgan City did the same, toppling Hahnville, 3-2 (22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 15-13), but no individual stats were available as of press time.

Central Catholic (10-7) also defeated Breaux Bridge at home, 3-0, although scores and stats were not available as of press time.

Patterson fell at home, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-15).

In Berwick’s victory, Elizabeth Hover led the squad with seven kills, seven digs, three aces, three blocks and 15 assists, while Hannah Carpenter added two assists, five aces and 11 digs. Other Lady Panther contributors included Abigail Ohlin, five kills, two assists and 10 digs; Diana Grace Guarisco, three assists, six aces and seven digs; Khadijah Johnson, six kills; Celeste Bowers, four aces and two digs; Rebecca Richard, one kill, three assists, three digs and two aces; and Abigail Askew, seven kills and a dig.

The Lady Panthers (4-7) will return to action Saturday with two home games, a match in the morning with H.L. Bourgeois and afternoon action against Morgan City. Action against H.L. Bourgeois will begin at 9 a.m. with junior varsity, followed by varsity action.

Later in the day, Berwick will play Morgan City with junior varsity set for 1 p.m. and varsity to follow.

In Patterson’s loss Thursday, Carissa Fontenot led the ’Jills with five points, two aces, nine digs and three kills, while Courtnie Boudreaux added six points, one dig, one block, three aces and four kills. Other Lumberjills’ contributors included Rachel Easley, three points, two aces, one dig and three kills; Caitlyn Fontenot, eight digs and seven kills; Gaylen Grogan, one point, one kill and five blocks; and Carli McIntyre, 12 digs.

The Lumberjills will return to action Saturday when they host West St. Mary, with junior varsity beginning at 10 a.m. and varsity to follow.
