The Patterson Lumberjacks 7-on-7 team captured first-place in the West Jefferson tournament in New Orleans on Thursday.

The Jacks went 5-0 in the six-team field beating East Jefferson, 14-6, in the opener. PHS then knocked off Shaw, 28-8, followed by a 14-12 win over host West Jefferson.

Patterson upended West St. John, 22-14, in the semifinals to advance to the finals against West St. John. The Jacks outscored the Rams, 28-16, to win the tournament.

Patterson also went 10-2-1 in the nationally recognized Air Attack Challenge at Louisiana College in Pineville last week. PHS also reached the championship game of the Mandeville High Tournament two weeks ago.

The Lumberjacks will return to tournament play at Central Catholic Tournament on July 16 in Morgan City.
