Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 7 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary for Mrs. Marilyn Motter Langston, 77, a native of Alexandria and a resident of Franklin since 1962, who passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., at her home with her family at her side.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 10 a.m., at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville. The Rev. Sue Pugh will officiate the services.

Mrs. Marilyn was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria, went on to Northwestern State College, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree, then went on to receive her Master’s Degree at LSU. She was a 4-H agent as well as a Home Economist for the LSU Extension Service.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, L.L. “Loopy” Langston of Franklin; her daughter, Stephanie Langston Mason and her husband, Anthony, of Prairieville; one brother, John William Motter and his wife, Mary Ann, of Campti; two granddaughters, Courtney Claire Mason and Mackenzie Kate Mason, both of Prairieville; three sisters-in-law, Bobby White and her husband, Alex, of Alexandria, Carolyn Bozarth and her husband, Joe, of Conroe, Texas and Louise Guillot and her husband, Ray, of West Monroe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William John Motter and Irene Chancellor Motter.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 1, at Ibert’s Mortuary, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Guillot Sr., Kendall Guillot, Dale Robicheaux, Paul Naquin, Paul Frost and Anthony Mason.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 1003 S. Hugh Wallis Rd., Suite F2, Lafayette, La. 70508 or to the First United Methodist Church, 920 Main St., Franklin, La. 70538.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Richard Fei and staff, St. Joseph Hospice and staff, and her caregivers, Patsy Jackson, Doris Willis and Loretta Broussard.
