Tanisha L. Thomas, 36, Joseph Street was charged at 12:39 p.m. Wednesday with theft by shoplifting.
Store personnel saw Thomas concealing packages of seafood in a large purse and attempting to leave the store, Morgan City Police Chief Marc Folse said.
She was detained by store personnel for authorities and was booked into City Jail with bond set at $482. She remained incarcerated this morning.
