The Morgan City boys defeated Berwick High School, while the Berwick girls defeated Morgan City’s girls, both in high school bowling action Wednesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
In boys’ action, Morgan City won, 19-9, while in the girls’ action, Berwick won, 20-7.
For the MCHS boys, Lang Bui had a 236 high game, while Taylor Brocato and Chandler Delaune recorded scores of 237 and 236, respectively.
Other MCHS participants included Brett Keton (211) and Ryan Veillion (207). Brocato recorded a high series of 654.
For Berwick, Carl Reed recorded a 225, while Chance Fraley bowled a 204 and Devon Quick recorded a 200. Fraley recorded the high series at 577.
With the win, the Morgan City boys improve to 7-1, while the Berwick boys fall to 5-3.
In girls’ action, Lauren Aucoin recorded a 151 game and a 364 series, while Jennifer Vu recorded a 365 series.
For Berwick, Elle Arcemont recorded a 178 game and 455 series.
With the win, Berwick improves to 5-3, while Morgan City falls to 4-3.
In bowling action on Monday, Berwick defeated Central Catholic 25-2 in boys’ action, while Berwick defeated CCHS 17-10 in girls’ action.
In the boys’ action, Berwick’s Paul Reed recorded a 206, while Mark Powell and Jessie Thompson each recorded a 200, and Mark Powell had a high series of 588.
Central Catholic’s Ethan Cline bowled a 179 game, while Jacob Pennison recorded a 508 series.
With the loss, CCHS fell to 0-8.
In the girls’ action, Elle Arcemont recorded a 150 game and 420 series for Berwick, while Kourtney Kennedy recorded a 142 game and 399 series for the Lady Panthers.
For CCHS, Alex Aucoin recorded a 144 game and 394 series, while Jada Pennison recorded a 156 game and 391 series.
With the loss, CCHS fell to 3-5 overall.
Morgan City and Central Catholic will square off on Monday in boys’ and girls’ action at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City, while Berwick’s boys will resume action on Wednesday against E.D. White at Charlie’s Lanes. All matches will begin at 3:40 p.m.
