Police were called around 3:38 p.m. after the 54-year-old man was shot in the arm and received a laceration to the head, Morgan City Police Chief Marc Folse said. The victim was treated and released from Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
The victim, who resides in the Second Street area, knew the shooter, the chief added.
Jeremy Herron, 31, of Labadieville is wanted for attempted second degree murder.
He is a black man of medium complexion, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 165 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact the MCPD at 380-4605.
In other local police news, Patterson police arrested Torrell Tillman, 21, of Patterson Friday at 6:36 p.m. on Taft Street and charged him with possession of stolen things after he stole jewelry, Chief Patrick LaSalle said.
He remained in the Patterson City Jail this morning with no bond set.
Also in Patterson, Tony Brown, 49, of Mercury Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Thursday at 9:36 p.m. on Mercury Road in Bayou Vista and charged with third offense driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, failure to signal turn and suspended license.
The arrest was made after he was stopped by a state trooper in Bayou Vista.
He remained in the City Jail in Patterson this morning with no bond set.
Elsewhere, Markita Turner, 21, of Duke Street in Morgan City was arrested Wednesday at 6:48 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting and on warrants for failure to appear for disturbing the peace and no driver’s license.
The theft was at the Bayou Vista Wal-Mart, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert.
Turner was transported to the parish jail for processing and incarceration.
Jose Martinez, 49, of Shaw Drive in Morgan City was arrested on Duhon Boulevard in Amelia Thursday at 6:54 p.m. on charges of no driver’s license, driving left of center and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States.
Martinez was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
Robert Williams, 22, of Calvin Street in Franklin was arrested Friday at 1 a.m. at the Bayou Vista Wal-Mart on a charge of theft by shoplifting. He was released on a summons.
Dominique Joseph, 19, of Morris Street in Franklin was arrested Friday at 1 a.m. at the Bayou Vista Wal-Mart on a charge of theft by shoplifting. She was released on a summons.
Casey David Cedotal, 33, of Azalea Drive in Donner was arrested Friday at 8:31 p.m. on U.S. 90 in Patterson on charges of failure to appear on a warrant for Morgan City and on charges of no driver’s license on person, expired inspection sticker and on possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
Johnisha Ayers, 17, of Headland Street in Morgan City was arrested Saturday at 5:09 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting at a shoe department store. She was released on a summons.
