Madison Prep tops Centerville Bulldogs

CENTERVILLE — Madison Prep earned a 72-54 win over the Centerville Bulldogs here Friday in District 8-B action at the CHS Gym.

Madison Prep is now 23-6 on the season and 2-0 in 8-B.

Centerville is now 12-12 and 2-1 in 8-B.

Centerville will host Lafayette Christian at 5:30 on Tuesday (jv and boys varsity).

Madison Prep will travel to Holden on Tuesday.

Leading scorers for Madison Prep were Chad Williams with 27 points on 11 deuces, one trey and 2 of 3 free throws along with Ralston Morris with 18 points on eight floor shots, including a pair of treys, and 2 of 2 free throws.

Rodrick Taylor and Jumani Washington tossed in 17 point each to lead the Centerville Bulldogs. Taylor made good on four deuces, two treys and 3 of 4 free throws while Washington bagged eight floor baskets and 1 of 2 freebies. Quinton Nettles also finished in double digits for the Bulldogs with 10 points on three deuces, one trey and 1 of 2 free throws.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were Jaric McDaniel, 4; Laroy Gant, 4 and Zacchaeus Jackson, 2.
