Allege details continue to emerge in the case of accused sex offender Eric Manuel, who was first arrested by the Kaplan Police Department.
Manuel was a volunteer and a videographer for St. Thomas More High School in Lafayette and Notre Dame High School in Crowley.
He was arrested last week and charged with molesting a 15-year-old boy.It is unknown which school the boy attended.
Posing as a 14-year-old girl named Emily Brant, Manuel spoke with several underage males on Facebook and through text messaging, police said.
These sexually explicit conversations were documented by Kaplan police and used in a sting operation where police made arrangement to meet Manuel at a local McDonald's where he was then arrested.
Louisiana State Police conducted interviews of four teenagers who engaged in conversations with the accused Manuel.
In these interviews, the teen boys were send nude pictures of a girl Manuel claimed was Emily Brant.
The teenage boys were threatened and persuaded to send nude photos and videos of themselves to Brant.
One juvenile was reportedly "sexting" with Brant. Another sent a video of himself masturbating.
All juveniles interviewed live in Acadiana area. Two are students at St. Michael Catholic School in Crowley, one is a student at Iota Middle School, and another is a student Sts. Leo-Seton Catholic School.
Manuel's IPhone and computer were seized. On his cell phone, police found more than 1,000 images of unidentified males who appeared to be in their teens exposing themselves.
The Criminal Investigative Division reviewed his computer and determined that there were approximately 150 mid-teen males who were also Facebook friends with Manuel. Manuel has now been arrested for activities relating to material involving the sexual exploitation of children.
Louisiana State Police are working in conjuction with the FBI on this ongoing investigation.
