BAYOU VISTA, La. -- A 25-year-old Bayou Vista man was arrested by St. Mary Parish deputies after he allegedly chased a group of people with a gun and dragged and repeatedly struck a female victim, stated Sheriff Mark Hebert in a news release.

Jonathan Ray Beadle, 22, of Southwest Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 4:49 a.m. Sunday for four counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and aggravated criminal damage to property more than $500, Hebert stated.

The arrest was made after a deputy responded to a complaint of a man chasing a woman with a gun in the area of Southwest and Canal roads in Bayou Vista.

Due to the nature of the complaint, Berwick and Morgan City Police were notified for assistance, he stated.

During the investigation, detectives learned that Beadle had chased a female victim and three other subjects with a gun after the subjects confronted Beadle over his alleged abuse of the female, Hebert stated.

As the group fled, Beadle caught up with the female victim and grabbed her and began dragging her and repeatedly striking her, he stated.

The victim was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later released.

Detectives also learned that during the disturbance, Beadle shattered the windows of a vehicle, Hebert stated.

Beadle was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.

I worked with this kid at Oceaneering and he was nothing but respectful and polite. I would love to be a fly on the wall and get the facts
