Man arrested for cruelty to juveniles

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reports the following arrests:

—Toreum Poole, 28, of Ramos Street, Morgan City, was arrested at his residence at 11:36 a.m. Tuesday for aggravated assault, simple battery and cruelty to juveniles. The deputy learned from the victim that Poole threatened her with a knife and in doing so also knocked a small child to the ground. He was booked into the parish jail. No bail has been set.

—Clifton Lodrigue, 27, of Louisa Street, Patterson, was arrested at a residence on Columbus Avenue in Bayou Vista at 5:39 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for possession of Schedule III narcotic (Stanozolol). He remains jailed with no bail yet set.

Two arrests were made in result of an investigation of an attempted unauthorized entry into a home in Amelia on Aug. 18:

—Alonzo Henry, 17, of Williams Street, Patterson, was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday at the sheriff’s office in Morgan City for simple burglary and on warrants for attempted unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, illegal carrying of a weapon, and simple criminal damage to property. He remains in the parish jail with no bail yet set.

—Michael Hickson, 20, of Idaho Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the McDonald’s restaurant in Morgan City on warrants for attempted unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property. He remains in the parish jail with no bail yet set.

The Patterson Police Department reports the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:

—Kenneth Evans III, 32, of Leo Street, Patterson, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. today on U.S. 90 East for driving while intoxicated first offense, driving under suspension, improper lane usage and three warrants from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. He remains jailed with no bail yet set.

The Morgan City Police Department reported the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Marc Folse:

—Cynthia Duval, 46, of Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 4:28 p.m. Tuesday for theft by shoplifting. She is alleged to have attempted to leave Cannata’s Supermarket without paying for $10.77 worth of items. She was jailed and then released on $492 bail.

—Shawn Stansbury, 39, of Third Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for failure to return leased merchandise. He was jailed and then released on $342 bail.

—Douglas James, 42, of Memory Lane, Estherwood, was arrested at 3:48 a.m. Tuesday for disturbing the peace. He remains jailed with bond not yet set.
