David Mire, 36, of Felicia Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 3:54 p.m. Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer and on a warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office for criminal neglect of family.
Police were dispatched to a residence on Chester Bowles Street in reference to a subject on the property who was not supposed to be there. Upon arrival, they located the subject and attempted to identify him. He gave them a false name and finally revealed his true identity as Mire. Police did a warrant check and found an active warrant for criminal neglect of family at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
During the search, officers located a syringe that Mire admitted to using to inject methamphetamine. He was taken to jail and held. Bail was set at $12,290 for the criminal neglect warrant and $1,239 for resisting an officer and drug paraphernalia charges.
