More charges have been filed against individuals arrested last week in connection with a rash of burglaries in the area.

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said original charges had been for possession of stolen property when arrests were made in connection with the thefts in residential areas along Irish Bend Road and as far away as Charenton.

After further investigation, both Franklin and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office filed the additional charges.

Rusty Shane Bordelon, 23, of Weber Street, Franklin, has been additionally charged on warrants with 22 counts of simple burglary by Franklin police, and nine counts by the sheriff’s office.

Shane Michael Compton, 32, of Weber Street, Franklin, has been charged on warrants with 23 counts of simple burglary by Franklin, and nine counts by the sheriff’s office.

Joshua Luke Boudreaux, 26, of Cypress Street, Franklin, has been charged with sheriff’s warrants on nine counts of simple burglary.

All were still incarcerated and remain so with no bonds set.

McGuire said most of the stolen items have been recovered, and identification and claiming by residents continues.
