Morgan City’s Miller among Jindal appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board were announced Friday by Gov. Bobby Jindal.

 The Louisiana State Mineral Board is the state body with the authority to lease state property for the development and production of minerals, oil, and gas.

The board consists of 11 members, nine of whom are appointed by the governor. The board is also comprised of the governor and the secretary of the Department of Natural Resources.

Appointments to the Louisiana State Mineral Board:

Dan Brouillette, of Shavano Park, Texas, is the senior vice president of Public Affairs & Government Relations for USAA. He previously was the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy from 2001 – 2003. Brouillette will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee.

R.E. Miller of Morgan City is the founder of Major Equipment and Remediation Services Inc. Miller will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee.
