Morgan City High School Fancy Dancers attend UDA camp

THE MORGAN CITY HIGH School Fancy Dancers, under the direction of Coach Courtney Matherne, recently attended the Universal Dance Association camp held on the LSU campus July 9-12. Each team brought a personal routine to compete on the first night. At the end of camp, awards were given with family and friends in attendance. Dancers received first place overall for Home Routine competition, as well as the “The 110 Percent Award” for best work ethic and best attitudes. The MCHS team members received all blue ribbons and the Coaches’ Leadership Award was won by Matherne. Carly Gowan, Brittney Landry and Destinie Scully, were chosen as All Americans and have been given the opportunity to travel to London and New York to perform.
