Morgan City man arrested on domestic abuse charge

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reports the following arrests.

—Nolan Crowe, 34, of Egle Street, Morgan City, was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Wednesday at the sheriff’s office in Morgan City for domestic abuse battery and telephone harassment. During an investigation of a domestic dispute, the deputy learned that Crowe had threatened the victim’s life multiple times; and earlier in the day, while at the victim’s residence, Crowe is alleged to have grabbed the female victim by the neck. He remains jailed with bail not yet set.

—Codey Smith, 24, of Shivers Street, Patterson, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday on Universe Street in Bayou Vista for driving under suspension and stop sign violation. He was released on a summons to appear in court.

—Chris Smith, 27, of Shivers Street, Patterson, was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday on Universe Street in Bayou Vista on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. He was booked, jailed, and later released on a $324.50 bail.

—Blair Nash, 37, of Neptune Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday for possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

—Evangeline Angton, 39, of Neptune Street, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday for possession of heroin with intent to distribute and failure to use a turn signal.

Nash and Angton were arrested on U.S. 90 near Franklin during a traffic stop. Both remain jailed with bail not yet set.

The Berwick Police Department made two arrests at police headquarters at 4:38 p.m. Wednesday stemming from an Oct. 5 theft on Pacific Street, according to Chief James Richard:

—Norman Weber Jr., 27, of Canton Street, Berwick, was arrested on a warrant for theft over $500.

—Danny Aucoin, 38, of Pacific Street, Berwick, was arrested on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things over $500. The stolen items have been recovered, and bail has not yet been set for either suspect.
