MORGAN CITY — The City Council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the city court building in Morgan City. The agenda includes a resolution of intent to enter into a power sales contract between the city and the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority.
Berwick council
BERWICK — Councilman-elect Greg Roussel will be sworn in Tuesday prior to the Town Council meeting.
Roussel was elected without opposition to permanently fill the seat of Penny T. Crappell. The seat was held until the election by Jacki Ackel.
On the agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting are a zoning map amendment at 2166 and 2176 River Road, a resolution concerning continued membership of the Berwick Development District and appointment of Charles Roy Jr. to the Berwick Development District.
At 7:15 p.m., a public hearing will be held on the zoning map amendment.
The meeting will be held at town hall and is open to the public.
API meeting
The Atchafalaya Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute will hold its meeting with the social beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City. Dinner and the program will follow at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Charles T. Goodson, chairman, CEO and president of PetroQuest Inc. His topic will be “Natural Gas — The Bridge to our Energy Future.”
