Streets were closed throughout the Tri-City area and phones went out at City Hall.
In Morgan City, flooding on Victor II Boulevard caused one police car to stall and barricades were placed along the roadway. At least one accident without injuries was reported during the storm near the Greenwood Overpass.
Mayor Tim Matte said several streets were flooded within the city, but houses were OK.
Berwick saw flooding in the Country Club area with barricades placed at Tournament Boulevard.
In Bayou Vista, Teche Road was impassible, and water was reported to be pushed into homes on David Street by traffic passing in the area, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert. Other roads reported with water on them are Southeast, Fairmont, Delmar.
Ford Industrial Road and La. 182 in Amelia are collecting water but remain passable, the sheriff said.
La. 182 in Patterson was inundated with water which was close to the homes, according to the sheriff.
