SHREVEPORT – The boyfriend of his mother is charged with first-degree murder of a two-year-old boy.

Tristan Anderson, 26, was arrested Friday afer the boy's body was found in a locked shed on Thursday, nearly two weeks after he supposedly disappeared. His mother reported him missing on Wednesday.

Ja’marsay Summerfield was found after police, on a routine welfare check associated with the investigation of his disappearance, found a locked shed on the property of the 8500 block Panatella Lane where his mother and her boyfriend live.

Officers unlocked the shed and found the boy, Shreveport police spokesman Sgt. Jim Taliaferro said.

Late Wednesday, Tamara Summerfield reported her son missing, saying he was last seen Oct. 7 with relatives of her boyfriend and had not returned.

Investigators attempted to find the boy and determine why his mother had waited so long to report him missing when they discovered his body.

Cause of death has not been revealed.
