For reasons still under investigation, Soileau ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Soileau was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
