Cypremort Point State Park demonstrates the power that even a minor hurricane or tropical storm, such as Isaac, has in moving vast amounts of water. In the top photo, strong winds coming from inland from the storm’s counter-clockwise flow pushed water away from the shoreline and edge of the bay. Below, as Isaac passed St. Mary Parish, the opposite effect is shown as the storm’s winds and tidal influences pushed water back up along the coast. (Courtesy SMPSO)
