MELVILLE – A Natchitoches man is charged with robbing a bank here and two others are being sought.

Police said Tyrone D. Byers was apprehended in Amarillo, Texas on Feb. 16 after a high-speed chase following an attempted traffic stop.

Subsequent information led to a search of his Natchitoches home where $64,000 was recovered. It is believed to part of the $368,000 taken in the United Mississippi Bank robbery on Feb. 8, according to St. Landry Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Two other men, 32-year-old David Pooler and 30-year-old Trevon Haile, are persons of interest.

Pooler is believed to be in the Baton Rouge area. Anyone who knows their whereabouts should call the St. Landry Criminal Investigation Division at (337) 594-8565 or St. Landry Crime Stoppers at (337) 948-8477.
