A new truck will be rolling the streets of Franklin Tuesday to collect the city’s garbage. Roddie Matherne, the Municipal Marketing and Governmental Affairs representative for Progressive Waste Solutions, showed the new truck to Councilman Chuck Autin, seated, this morning on Main Street. Matherne said the truck is the first replacement for the company’s fleet in St. Mary. Progressive has contracts with the city, the parish and Berwick and Patterson. He said the company has plans to eventually replace all of its 2007 models with new trucks.
