STEVE NUGENT, Ag teacher at Centerville High School, was the guest speaker at the February meeting of the Franklin Garden Club. Nugent presented a program on composting with red wiggler worms (vermicomposting). The Centerville Ag Department is currently experimenting with the worms to make compost. The worms are kept in bins and fed salad greens and coffee grounds, filters and all! The composted material the worms produce is added to water to form a compost tea, which is used as a natural fertilizer.
