Orina P. Martin, a native of Centerville and a resident of Morgan City, passed away March 5, 2013, in Patterson at the age of 82.

Orina was Catholic by faith and a parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the Eastern Star. She was an excellent cook and quite a seamstress; Orina took great pride in sewing clothes for her children and family, as her son Alan says, “I still wear Mom’s shirt.”

Orina is survived by her sons, Alan Pellerin and his wife, Linda, of Centerville and Ronald Brashear of Morgan City; one daughter, Lillian Boates of Orlando, Fla.; her sister, Isabel McCloud of Ardmore, Md.; her granddaughter, Tammy Johnson of Orlando, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Killian Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Orina was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Collins Pellerin Sr.; sisters, Nedra Washington, Ernestine Vorice and Carrie Pellerin; and her brother, Collins Pellerin Jr.

Visitation will be Friday at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. in the chapel.

Visitation will continue Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Morgan City Cemetery.
