The Advisory Planning and Zoning Building Permit Committee “will be responsible for reviewing the fee structure, time frame for issuance of permits, plan review time and any other planning and zoning and/or building permit items that may come before” the board, according to the agenda.
Establishment of the committee is in response to complaints on high building permit fees.
Council Chairman Kevin Voisin is slated to recommend the following to the board: Councilmen Lionel Metz, David Hanagriff, Glen Hidalgo, Albert Foulcard and Steve Bierhorst as chairman along with former councilman Gary Duhon and Deborah Tabor of the Planning and Zoning Committee.
Other items on the agenda include introduction of two ordinances — one to abandon the servitude at the Franklin Canal boat launch and parking lot and the other to rename Oak Street in Garden City for mail delivery purposes.
Also on the agenda are resolutions endorsing participation in the state Enterprise Zone program by Bollinger Marine Fabricators LLC, Twin Brothers Marine LLC, Cabot Corp., Bollinger Amelia LLC and C Five B LLC.
Other resolutions up for consideration would disband the Verdunville and Centerville Recreation Advisory Board; request that the Department of transportation and Development install appropriate signage indicating an industrial area with large trucks along La. 182 in Bayou Vista near Cameron Iron Works and Teche Trucking and at the intersection of Carolyn Street; and approve and adopt the 2011 Louisiana Compliance Questionnaires for the parish and its Section 8 program.
Other resolutions would authorize contracts with LA Contracting Enterprises LLC on the final phase of the apron rehab project at Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport; for engineering and planning services at the airport; and with ADPG for professional services on a website for the Office of Economic Development.
The meeting on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin begins at 6 p.m. and is open to the public.
