BATON ROUGE — A pay review panel recommends raising district judge pay by $3,000 next year and another $3,000 in 2013, taking their pay to $142,523.

It said the increases would bring the Louisiana district court pay level to that more prevalent in the southeast and make the job more appealing to successful attorneys reluctant to give up lucrative private practices.

Under the Judicial Compensation Commission plan appellate judges would go from $142,447 to $151,640 in 2012 and then $155,006; and Supreme Court justices from $149,572 to $155,106 in 2012 and $158,589 in 2013.

This is just another ploy to get another raise for your legislators while we are being asked to do more with less. If Judges get the raise so does every LA legislator. The following is a prime example of how we're being led to the slaughter!

State Rep. Jane Smith, R-Bossier City, was named deputy secretary of the state Department of Revenue. As a former State employee who just lost his $30,000.00 a year job ( for being injured on the job while forced to do something he was unqualified for) just so Governor Jindal may use of the Dept's funds for his pet projects I am just wondering how many more of us will be lost to continue to feed the hogs at the trough, How long can this Administration continue to cut employees who are now on there fourth year without a pay raise, forced to work overtime and given comp. time that they can't use because they are doing the job of 3-4 personnel and no one is there to take your place if you want time off. Presently most State employees with enough time to retire have or will be leaving State Service because it is no longer seems like a job but a prison sentence. These individuals the State are losing are the experienced, hard working employees comparable to the military's NCO's not the ones just along for the paycheck. These individuals that are being replaced are replaced by what the State calls Wage workers;hired for minimum wage with no benefits and are terminated when it comes time to move up. This Administration has fooled the population with their cost cutting while in fact they are cutting costs at the expense of working men and women and rewarding their political cohorts such as the above mentioned ex rep. many whom are receiving other State retirements while receiving these new 6 figure kickbacks. I thought this double dipping was supposed to be stopped by this Governor or is it just for the good old boys/girls.. This was the reason Civil Service was began after the Long reign and will be the next causality of the war on the working men and women of this State. Remember the next time you or your family need State assistance and are sent to a minimum wage body. This Governor is worst that Edwards in his political dealings. At least with Edwards we were given a chance. Remember when Jindal took over DHH was gutted to the bone! Well, soon the entire State will be gutted to only political friends. This agenda is no better that Obama's
