Parish council meets Wednesday

Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Items on the agenda include:

—Appearances by Jacki Ackel and Diane Wiltz requesting $3,500 in annual funding for the Red Ribbon Drug-Free Week Campaign; and Ira Minor and Paul Garrett to discuss concerns in the Siracusaville area.

—Resolutions on a professional services agreement with LJC Poole LLC on the preparation of a comprehensive long-range resiliency plan; and a mowing and litter pickup maintenance agreement with the state Department of Transportation and Development.

—Appointment of the official journal from July 1 through June 30, 2013.

—Requests to transfer three-tenths sales tax funds from Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 10 in the amounts $11,600 to Recreation District 7 for the summer youth enrichment program in Verdunville (Councilman Glen Hidalgo, District 4) and $7,000 to the City of Franklin and St. Mary School Board for the Karate Club at LaGrange Elementary, (Council Charles Middleton, District 2).

The meeting is held on the fifth floor of the Courthouse in Franklin and is open to the public.
