—Resolutions in support of Community Action Agency’s application for a fatherhood initiative grant from the Administration for Children and Families; granting preliminary approval to the issuance of up to $600,000 in certificates of indebtedness and application for same to the state Bond Commission; expressing thanks and appreciation to agencies, individuals, and others who assisted the parish during the recent flood threat; approving an election call by Recreation District 2, Morgan City area, on Oct. 22, to authorize the continuation of a special tax and the incurring of debt and issuance of bonds therein; on an engineering service agreement with T. Baker Smith LLC on the Cajun Land road and gas line infrastructure project in Amelia; on a cooperative endeavor agreement with Water & Sewer Commission 1 on construction and maintenance of the water sewer line projects in Amelia.
—Instruction on requirements to fill board vacancies on the St. Mary Levee District. The terms of Barry Broussard (Council District 6) and Philip Luke (Council District 4) have expired. The council has to submit three nominations for each seat to the Governor’s Office for reappointment or appointment. Those nominees need to complete an application and provide résumé. Also needed are the applications from the individuals nominated for the Council District 8. Those nominees are present member Norris Crappell as well as Leroy Breaux and Carl McAllister.
—Correspondence from St. Mary Library Executive Director Julie W. Champagne Vidos, suggesting that due to safety and security issues, location of Patterson voting precincts may be more suitable at the old library branch instead of the new facility.
—A suggestion by Hanagriff to apply in-kind credit to Sewer District 5’s outstanding loan on its sewer pond harvesting equipment for harvesting work conducted at and on behalf of the Town of Baldwin, St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission 5 (Four Corners) and St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission 4 (Charenton).
