The Patterson City Council will meet Tuesday to discuss several items of business, including taking action on water rate increases.

The regular meeting will be preceded at 7 p.m. by two public hearings concerning the rezoning of 601 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson from R-6 to T-trailer zones and a public hearing concerning the proposed water rates.

Slated to be discussed are an intergovernmental agreement for the city to purchase a bus from Morgan City High School, action on a rezoning issue, the AT&T franchise agreement and the fire department’s rating score.

Also on the agenda are discussions of:

—Introduction of a cemetery ordinance.

—A presentation from a SweeDee representative.

—A resolution for a Community Readiness Plan.

—Cleanest City Contest announcements.

—Discussion of the Cypress Sawmill Festival

—A resolution concerning St. Mary Community Action Agency.

—A permit for a can shake for American Legion 242 and Patterson Project Graduation.

The meeting will be held at city hall and is open to the public.
