Patterson man accused in murder held in parish jail

Junior Weston, 46, of Williams Street in Patterson, was booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centreville at 3:52 p.m. Thursday for the first degree murder of Dominique Bennett, whose body was found in a Williams Street apartment in Patterson on Wednesday.

Weston also has a hold listed for parole violation.

Weston had been arrested by Patterson Police at 5:45 a.m. Thursday after being initially arrested in New Orleans. Weston was taken to the parish jail after being transferred from the Patterson Police Department at 3:10 p.m.

Weston made his first appearance in court Friday and his bail has yet to bet set pending a bail hearing, according to the St. Mary Parish Clerk of Court’s office.
