A Patterson teen was arrested after he beat someone in the head with a baseball bat at the Jessie B. Hayes Boat Landing in Patterson.

Bannon L. Lightsey, 19, of Camille Drive in Patterson was arrested today at 12:36 a.m. for aggravated second degree battery.

A deputy was called to Jessie B. Hayes Boat Landing in reference to a fight where he was flagged down by witnesses who advised that victim had been hit in the head with a bat. Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene and transported the victim to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City for his injury, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

The deputy retrieved information from witnesses and located Lightsey at his residence. He later was booked into the parish jail where he remained this morning with no bond set.

Elsewhere, MacArthur Bailey, 35, of Joseph Street in Siracusa was arrested Thursday at 8:45 a.m. for illegal use of a weapon.

A deputy was called to Bailey’s home in reference to the suspect shooting a rifle, Hebert said.

Bailey was booked into the parish jail where he remained this morning with no bond set.

Tracie L. Cassady, 47, of Halsey Street in Morgan City was arrested Thursday at 1:29 p.m. on a warrant for Bay County, Fla., for grand theft.

Detectives were patrolling the Amelia area when they observed Cassady’s vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, officers learned of the warrant.

Cassady was booked into the parish jail with no bond awaiting extradition to Florida.

Patterson police arrested Drew Baugher, 22, of Mill Road in Patterson for false imprisonment, theft and simple battery – domestic violence at 6:27 p.m. Thursday.

The victim, who is Baugher’s girlfriend, had stayed at his home the evening prior to the arrest. When she tried to leave around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Baugher opened her car door and took her keys and phone. The victim repeatedly told Baugher she wanted to leave, but they returned to the home while continuing the argument. Again she tried to leave, and he pushed her onto the bed and held her there, Chief Patrick LaSalle said.

Baugher’s father intervened and the two of them began to fight. It was at this point that the victim was able to obtain her property and leave, the chief added.

Baugher remained incarcerated with no bond set.

At 6:48 p.m. Thursday, Kimberly Bergeron, 20, and a 16-year-old male were arrested for possession of marijuana. Bergeron additionally was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The pair was parked in a known drug area on Live Oak Street in Patterson for an extended period of time. They later were stopped on Catherine Street, also in Patterson. The juvenile driver was acting nervous, and because of this, further investigation was called for, LaSalle said.

Bergeron, of Olive Lane in Patterson, allegedly admitted that the marijuana found belonged to both of them.

The juvenile was released to a guardian, while Bergeron was required to post a $3,000 bond before being released.

In Berwick, Warren James Jr., 55, of Fourth Street in Berwick was charged with hit-and-run driving and careless operation with an accident after an incident at Utah and Fifth streets in Berwick, according to BPD Chief James Richard.

James posted a $1,250 bond and was released.
