Patterson placed second in the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Cleanest City Contest for District 3 in Category F, according to Claire Sawyer, City of Patterson Cleanest City chairman and Patterson Garden Club member. The garden club sponsored the city’s entry into the contest.

The city placed behind Scott and ahead of St. Martinville in Category F competition.

“We are very thankful to our city crews and everyone that participated in our cleanup,” Sawyer said. “I still think we have the cleanest city.”

She said the judges were impressed by the banners in the city, the cleanup of U.S. 90 and the future plans for a community garden.
