FRANKLIN — Patterson High School won its Division 3, District 5 opener Tuesday with a 3-0 (25-7, 25-12, 25-11) victory.

Carissa Fontenot led the Lumberjills with a double-double with a mind-boggling 13 aces and 11 assists along with seven points and a dig, while her twin sister, Caitlyn Fontenot, added two points and assists apiece as well as 11 kills and five aces.

Other Patterson contributors included Rachel Easley, five aces, three kills and points apiece and an assist; Kailyn Johnson, two points, three aces and digs apiece and a kill; and Rebecca Taylor, three points and two aces, digs and kills each.

Patterson will return to action Thursday with district match against Vanderbilt. Junior varsity play begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by varsity play at 5:30 p.m.
