In its initial session the committee is slated to establish its meeting place and date and times as well as discuss public input into its objective.
The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the council meeting room on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin.
Members of the committee include Councilmen Lionel Metz, David Hanagriff, Glen Hidalgo, Albert Foulcard and Steve Bierhorst along with former councilman Gary Duhon and Deborah Tabor of the Planning and Zoning Committee.
The council will convene its regular meeting at 6 p.m. in which there is a resolution on an agreement with Craigo Code Consultants LLC of Patterson, to provide building permit plan review services.
The council is slated to consider adoption of two proposed ordinances that would authorize the abandonment of the servitude at the old Franklin Canal boat launch and parking lot on Willow Street and the renaming of Oak Street in Garden City to Sawmill Road for mail delivery purposes. A public hearing on the ordinances will be called at 5:45 p.m.
Other resolutions on the agenda include:
—A sub-grant agreement with Chez Hope relative to the Emergency Shelter Grant Program services.
—A contract with LA Contracting Enterprise LLC on Cajun Way Road.
—New signatories for St. Mary Parish Sales and Use Tax Department.
—An agreement with the Lafayette Parish on the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Home.
—Authorization of a $920,000 general obligation refunding bond package by Water and Sewer Commission 2.
—A contract with Sea Level Construction Inc. on the Plantation Pump Station. (Adm.)
—An agreement with Magellan Health Services to provide managed behavioral health care for Fairview Treatment Center. (Adm.)
—A request to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, to follow the recommendations of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Office of Coastal Management, as to the implementation of fair and reasonable regulations on wetland habitat assessment and compensation for wetland impacts.
—Change orders on the lighting system rehab project at Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport; and the Thorguson Road project. (Adm.)
—A certificate of substantial completion on Cell 4 Phase II – Stage 1 of the landfill expansion project.
Guests on the agenda include David Bourdier and the Cypress Sawmill Festival Queens on the upcoming, May 30-April 1, in Patterson; and Fire Chief Clarence Clark of Fire Protection District 11 and the Rev. Craig Mathews to discuss issues with the St. Mary Fire Association.
