That Just Takes the Cake, an annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association, drew a full house to the Morgan City Petroleum Club Friday night for a steak dinner, silent auction, music by Voodoo Bayou and the headlining cake auction. Cakes sold for $200 or more, and one cake sold for $2,000. Organizers are still tallying their proceeds for the night. Above, Barton Blanco served as auctioneer for the cake auction; and organizing committee member Julie Domino parades a pound cake with lemon glaze for bidders to see.
